A spiritual cleansing ritual took a tragic turn in Okun Ajah as a woman who went missing during the exercise was found dead two days later.

According to reports, a shepherd took the unidentified woman to a stream for a spiritual bath on Wednesday, February 5, 2025. However, the strong current swept her away, and she was declared missing.

The shepherd promptly reported the incident at three police stations—Ajiwe, Ogombo, and Ikota—seeking help in locating the woman. Sadly, on Friday, February 7, 2025, her lifeless body was discovered in the stream.

Authorities have taken the shepherd into custody for questioning as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue. The identity of the deceased remains unknown, and police urge anyone with relevant information to come forward.
