Stop Rubbishing The Church – Celestial Member Calls for Caution Over Trending Rumors

A passionate Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) member, Evangelist Segun Glorious, has spoken out against the spread of unverified information regarding the ongoing investigation into a missing child near the LASU area in Lagos.

The controversy erupted when a viral post claimed that the remains of the missing boy were found within or near a CCC parish, alongside guns and axes allegedly discovered under the altar. The news, which reportedly originated from a CCC member’s Facebook post, quickly gained traction online, sparking outrage and concern.

However, Evangelist Segun has urged both Celestians and the general public to exercise caution before believing and sharing unverified reports. He revealed that several non-Celestians had reached out to him for confirmation, struggling to believe the accusations, especially since the claims came from within the CCC fold.

Facts Vs. Rumors
– The family of the missing boy has denied seeing his remains, either dead or alive.
– The Nigeria Police Force has officially distanced itself from the viral claims, clarifying that no such discovery has been made.
– There is no credible evidence yet to support the allegations of human remains or weapons being found within the church premises.

Evangelist Segun criticized the growing trend of CCC members hastily sharing damaging stories about their own church without proper verification. He called on members to wait for official statements from law enforcement or professional media outlets before jumping to conclusions.

“Why should individuals who are members of the church put up their pen against the church on social media without any proof? Isn’t that wickedness and heartlessness?” he questioned.

He further condemned those who blindly believed and circulated the allegations without waiting for credible sources to report on them.

Evangelist Segun has urged those who participated in spreading the misleading information to issue public apologies, warning that legal action could be taken against those who tarnished the church’s image.

While acknowledging that the detained Shepherd remains a key suspect in the investigation, he emphasized that, until proven guilty, the church should not be dragged into baseless accusations.

“If tomorrow the missing boy is found dead within the church premises, it will be a different issue entirely, and we will all condemn the act. But for now, what has been circulating is hazardous, untrue, and misleading.”

As the investigation continues, Celestians and the public are advised to remain patient and avoid engaging in speculation that could harm innocent individuals or institutions.
