Shock in Enugu as Native Doctor Allegedly Buries Pregnant Woman, Others Alive for Rituals

Panic has gripped Umumba Ndiagu in Ezeagu LGA, Enugu State, following the discovery of gruesome ritual activities allegedly carried out by a popular native doctor, Ezeani, who is now on the run.

Eyewitnesses and viral videos revealed multiple pit-like graves in his compound, where bodies—including that of a heavily pregnant woman—were found buried upright, suggesting they may have been buried alive. The disturbing scene has sparked widespread outrage and fear.

In retaliation, enraged residents burned down Ezeani’s home and cars. A man who claimed to be his security guard was apprehended, beaten, and accused of aiding in the rituals. Though he denied involvement in the killings, he admitted frequent visits to the compound for ritual activities.

Ezeani, once hailed and even awarded in the community, is now a fugitive. Authorities have launched a full investigation as efforts continue to apprehend him and uncover the full extent of the crimes.
