Just recently, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed among 20 others (Dr.) Ade Tinubu as his personal physician.
Dr. Ade Tinubu who is a US trained General Surgeon also serves as the Medical Advisor to the Pastor and Spiritual Head, CCC Worldwide, Rev. Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Oshoffa.
Before his appointment, Tinubu was Director, Critical Care Unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH).
He holds Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Zoology/Animal Biology from George Washington University in 1985 and later earned his medical degree from the Howard University College of Medicine in 1989.
Tinubu was licensed in Nigeria by the Nigerian National Medical and Dental Council in 2005, Fellow, American College of Surgeons, 2004; Diplomate, American Board of Surgery, 2001; Completion of General Surgical Residency, June 1996; Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC licenses; NBME Certification; and ATLS Certified.
Tinubu did his Research Fellowship in the United States, July 1991-June 1993 at the National Cancer Institute, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, MD 20892; his Residency in General Surgery, July 1990-Junel991; Julyl993-Junel996 at the Howard University Hospital, Washington DC 20060 as well as his Internship, July 1989-June 1990 after graduating Doctor of Medicine, May 1989 from the Howard University College of Medicine, Washington DC 20059.
He was a Consultant to the Oyo State Ministry of Health on the Redesign and Upgrade of Ring Road State Hospital, Ibadan, 2011 to 2014; Consultant in charge of design, development and construction of the Critical Care Unit at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), 2004; Consultant, Critical Care Specialist at LASUTH for the Open Heart Surgery Programme, November 2004; Visiting Consultant Surgeon, General Hospital, Badagry, Lagos, Nigeria. 2004-2005.
While at the Howard University College of Medicine, Tinubu also won the Raymond P. Jackson Award “for tutorial service and commitment to academic support of medical students,” the Dr. Clyde W. Jones Award (Runner-up) “for excellence in anesthesiology” and the Chairman’s Award “to the intern whose clinical and academic performance on external examinations are superior and who is deemed by the department to demonstrate the attributes necessary for a safe and skillful surgeon” from the Department of Surgery, Howard University Hospital, 1990.
HMSE (Dr) Ade Tinubu is also the Chairman of the Parochial Committee, Celestial Church of Christ, Ireakari Parish, Isolo, Lagos and the Chairman of the Imeko Convocation Medical Committee. He has consistently sponsored the activities of that Committee by donating drugs on a yearly basis.
