The Ondo State House of Assembly Member Representing Ese-Odo State Constituency, Hon. (Primate) Messiah Oluwatoyin Allen, has mourned the demise of the state former Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN CON, describing his death as a big blow and painful loss to the people of Ondo State and Nigeria.
The former Governor, Akeredolu, was reported dead in the early hours of Wednesday December 27, 2023 after prolonged suffering from leukemia.
Hon. Allen said Akeredolu was a peace-loving, courageous and patriotic leader who left no stones unturned in following his convictions and speaking truth to power. He added that the former governor prioritized the good security of the people of the state, south-west and Nigeria as a whole.
The Chairman, House Committee on OSOPADEC said the Amotekun General lived a fulfilled life and had served the people of Ondo state diligently and patriotically. He stated that he was personally touched and deeply saddened by Akeredolu’s death, saying his legacy, especially in security, will last long in the hearts of many Nigerians.
According to him, “Our leader, late Rotimi Akeredolu, SAN CON was a strong man. My thoughts are with state government, people of the state, the family and the larger APC family. I pray that God Almighty will grant him a peaceful repose and give the family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
