The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the November 11, 2023 election in Kogi State, Ahmed Usman Ododo, has assured the Fulani community that he would sustain and improve on the peaceful coexistence between the Fulani and the people of the state if elected.
He also said that he had mapped out a strategic plan to deliver dividends of democracy to the people of Lokoja Local Council if voted on Saturday.
Ododo gave this assurance, at the weekend, while addressing the Fulani community and Lokoja Local Council stakeholders who had assembled in their thousands to declare their support for his governorship ambition.
He said his intentions for the state were pure and good, saying that if elected as governor, he will ensure that the people would continue to live freely to transact their businesses, just like they have been doing under the leadership of the incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello.
Meanwhile, the Fulani community in the state had earlier endorsed the governorship candidate of the APC ahead of next Saturday’s election. Spokesperson of the community, Prof. Mohammed Abdullahi, said Ododo was chosen because he was the most qualified candidate among those contesting. He added that their decision was informed by the tremendous success recorded by the administration of Governor Bello. Especially in the area of infrastructural development.
Ododo, in his remarks, said that having undertaken extensive research, he found out that the entire Lokoja stakeholders, irrespective of tribe, religious and political affiliation, are united.
