LASEPA: The massive enforcement operation, the agency targeted locations in Ikeja, Mushin, Gbagada, and Maryland, enforcing its mandate to protect public health and ensure compliance with environmental laws.
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has shut the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Celestial Church of Christ Gbagada Parish 1, and several establishments for noise pollution.
Among the establishments affected by the operation are Vital Products Limited, A & P Nigeria Limited, Polite Anchorage and Suites, the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Terrag Inn Apartment, Evening Class Guest House, Celestial Church of God, a printing press, Charley’s Bar, and 7th Heaven Hotel & Suites.
In a statement released by the LASEPA, these businesses were found guilty of violating environmental regulations, despite multiple warnings from the agency.
LASEPA, in a post on its X handle said that it intensified its efforts to combat noise pollution and environmental violations by sealing off establishments across Lagos.
“We will not tolerate non-compliance with our regulations,” agency declared, emphasizing that every establishment must uphold its environmental responsibilities to support a cleaner and more sustainable Lagos.
The agency urged businesses to cooperate with the Lagos State Government in its mission to improve the environment, stressing the importance of adhering to the state’s environmental laws to safeguard public health.
This enforcement action is part of LASEPA’s ongoing efforts to maintain order and ensure that businesses comply with regulations designed to create a safer and healthier environment for Lagos residents.
The agency’s crackdown is expected to continue, targeting other establishments across the state that fail to meet environmental standards.
