Majority of Sexual Assault Claims by Women Are False — Pastor Emmanuel Iren Sparks Controversy

Nigerian pastor, Emmanuel Iren, has sparked widespread outrage and debate after claiming that in ministry, “9 out of 10 cases where women claim they were sexually assaulted end up being false.”

The senior pastor of Celebration Church International made the controversial remark while addressing issues of sexual misconduct within religious settings. He suggested that many of the accusations he had encountered were either exaggerated or fabricated, though he did not provide any verifiable data to support the claim.

The statement has drawn criticism from women’s rights groups and concerned individuals who argue that such comments could further silence real victims and discourage them from speaking out.

While some of his followers defended the comment as a reflection of his personal experiences in ministry, others called for more sensitivity and a fact-based approach when addressing such serious allegations.

As of now, Pastor Iren has not released any additional clarification or apology regarding the statement.
