Historic Move: President Patrice Talon Leads Unification of Celestial Church of Christ Worldwide

For the first time in nearly four decades, the Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) Worldwide is on a definitive path toward unity and reform. This groundbreaking initiative is led by President Patrice Talon of the Republic of Benin, who has taken a decisive step in addressing the long-standing divisions and administrative challenges that have plagued the church since the passing of its founder, Prophet S.B.J. Oshoffa, in 1985.

Since February 20, 2025, President Talon has been working tirelessly to bring together all faction leaders within CCC, a feat previously deemed impossible. For nearly 40 years, instability, internal conflicts, financial mismanagement, and disputes over authority have weakened the church’s credibility. However, under President Talon’s leadership, a new governance structure has been established to restore peace and unity within the CCC.

To oversee this transition, a Transition Council of Superiors has been created, consisting of the Sacred Committee and the Executive Secretariat. This council will be led jointly by Rev. Pastor E.M.F. Oshoffa and Rev. Pastor B. Adeogun, who have agreed to merge their separate administrative structures into a single governing body. The council has been given a one-year mandate to implement crucial reforms within the church.

The council’s primary responsibilities include rewriting the CCC Constitution to reflect a unified and modernized church governance structure, standardizing the church’s code of dressing, liturgy, and financial administration, and developing a blueprint for the management of CCC pilgrimage sites to enhance organization and sustainability.

The council consists of fifteen distinguished members representing CCC communities across different regions. These include Rev. Pastor E.M.F. Oshoffa from Nigeria and Rev. Pastor B. Adeogun from Benin Republic, four top CCC dignitaries, including one opposition leader from the CCC Port Novo Headquarters and CCC Supreme Headquarters in Benin Republic, five top CCC dignitaries from Nigeria, including one opposition leader representing CCC Imeko Headquarters, two representatives from Côte d’Ivoire, one representative from Togo, and one representative appointed by President Talon to oversee CCC Treasury during the transition. All decisions made by the council must be approved by both Pastors Oshoffa and Adeogun, ensuring consensus-based governance.

The Transition Council of Superiors will officially commence operations on April 23-24, 2025, in Cotonou, Benin Republic, with a formal installation ceremony attended by church dignitaries and government officials. The operational headquarters will be in Cotonou, where a five-member team will permanently monitor the council’s activities.

To facilitate the success of this transition, the Beninese government will provide logistical, financial, and administrative support for as long as it remains feasible.

This unprecedented initiative marks a turning point for CCC Worldwide, setting the stage for long-awaited unity and progress. As the Transition Council embarks on its mission, members of the church globally remain hopeful that this effort will lead to a more cohesive and prosperous future for the Celestial Church of Christ.

God bless CCC Worldwide. God bless President Patrice Talon.
