The Osun State Government, through the Department of Public Prosecution, has arraigned Evangelist Lekan Ogundipe for the gruesome murder of Most Senior Evangelist Gbaju Fadehan of Celestial Church of Christ, Grace of Comfort Parish, Ile Ife. The case was heard at the State High Court on Tuesday, February 4, 2025.
According to the prosecution, Ogundipe fatally stabbed Fadehan before setting him ablaze within the church premises on February 26, 2024, following a personal dispute. The court was presented with documents supporting the murder charges, emphasizing that the crime falls under serious violations of state law.
After hearing the arguments from all parties, the presiding judge adjourned the case until March 13, 2025, for further proceedings. Meanwhile, Ogundipe was remanded in a correctional facility pending the next hearing.
The shocking incident has left the community in mourning, with further tragedy unfolding as Fadehan’s wife also reportedly passed away following the ordeal. Residents and church members continue to seek justice, calling for swift legal action against the accused.
