ENGR ABEL OBAKPOLOR TAKES OVER FROM MS JULIET DANGIWA KYOM AS THE CHAIRMAN OF REVENUE MAGAZINE EVENT ADVISORY BOARD (EAB)

Further to the expiration of the tenure of Ms. Juliet Dangiwa Kyom as the Chairperson of REVENUE Magazine Event Advisory Board (EAB) on December 31, 2023, Engr. Abel Obakpolor who doubles as the web media partner of Alford Conferences Limited, has been assigned the role of chairman of the board with effect from January 1, 2024. He is expected to serve in this capacity until January 1, 2025.

In a press release sent out online, dated January 15, 2024, by Mr. Awwal Ibrahim Ndako, Special Adviser on Media at Alford Conferences, this announcement was made by Mr. Frederick Apeji, MD/CEO of the company, in Abuja while presenting his New Year Message to the EAB members on the same day.

In the message, Mr. Apeji thanked Ms. Juliet Dangiwa Kyom for her exemplary service and leadership during her tenure as chairperson, and equally welcomed Engr. Obakpolor warmly as the new chairman of the board. Fred also thanked Mr. Obakpolor for his support for Alford Conferences Limited on the IT front over the years, and I wished him every success as he chairs the EAB for the next 12 months.

The REVENUE Magazine EAB, among other tasks, is part of the nomination panel that selected the winners of the WORLDEX Social Meets Soccer Awards in November 2023. The winners of this award were Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Neymar, Ronaldinho Gaucho, Karim Benzema, Kylian Mbappe, Sergio Ramos, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcelo Vieria and James Rodriguez. These 10 global soccer players, who have the largest following on social media, will be honoured among others at the inaugural World Digital Exhibition (WORLDEX) now slated for April 24-27, 2024, in Abuja, Nigeria.

The EAB also participates actively in magazine’s engagement with national and state governments as well as leading corporate organizations in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Kenya, South Africa, Egypt, and the rest of Africa.

Abel Obakpolor is the Founder/CEO of King Abel Web Server, a web design and web hosting company based in Benin City, Edo State. The company has partnered with Alford Conferences Limited on web design from January 1, 2021 till date, and the partnership has waxed stronger from that time till now. The company also supported Alford Conferences in conceptualizing and designing the website for its new tech division, called Gurrendi Web, a web platform that promotes digital government in Nigeria and the rest of Africa.

In his acceptance letter for the appointment, Engr. Engr. Finally, let me also use this opportunity to recognize the good works done by Hajiya Fadila Dalhatu Sani, the pioneer chairperson (September 2021-December 2022), and Ms. Juliet Dangiwa Kyom, who is my immediate predecessor. I shall build upon the achievements of these two previous chairpersons, while expanding the scope and impact of the EAB during my tenure.”
