“Air Peace Grounds All Flights Nationwide Amid Safety Crisis – Strike Forces Total Shutdown”

Air Peace has announced the immediate suspension of all its flight operations across Nigeria due to an ongoing strike by the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NiMet). The airline cited safety concerns, stating that “flight safety cannot be guaranteed” during the NiMet strike.

This nationwide suspension follows a series of recent operational disruptions. Earlier this month, Air Peace suspended flights to Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu, citing safety concerns over the airport’s runway condition. The airline diverted flights to Asaba Airport to allow the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to perform necessary repairs.

Additionally, in January 2025, Air Peace canceled flights to and from six Nigerian cities—Warri, Ibadan, Akure, Ilorin, Calabar, and Uyo—due to unscheduled maintenance. The airline emphasized its commitment to safety as the primary reason for these cancellations.

Passengers affected by the current nationwide suspension are advised to contact Air Peace’s customer service for updates and assistance. The airline has not provided a timeline for the resumption of flight operations.
