A Catholic priest, Rev. Ftr. Joseph Enyinaya, have been arrested by the Imo State Police Command for allegedly shooting to death a teenager.
The incident occurred at St. Columbus Catholic Church, Amaimo Ikeduru Local Government Area of the State.
Quoting The Nation newspaper, P.M. NEWS reported that the Catholic Priest brought out his revolver and shot the young boy who had thrown a firecracker inside the church on December 31.
The State Police Command Spokesman, Henry Okoye who confirmed the incident on Thursday, said the Catholic priest has been arrested.
He added that a detailed investigation has commenced to unravel the facts surrounding the incident.
“The priest has been arrested, and the body of the boy has been recovered and deposited at Atta Ikeduru Mortuary.
“The police investigation is expected to shed more light on the events leading up to the incident,” he said.
