Okpebholo talks tough, says I’ll not tolerate indolence, lackadaisical approach to work

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has warned of his administration’ zero tolerance to indolence and lackadaisical approach to work.

He gave the warning on Tuesday during the swearing in ceremony of three new Permanent Secretaries, at the Government House, Benin City.

According to him, “Gone are the days when anything goes in public service. My administration will not tolerate indolence and lackadaisical approach to work.

‘To this end, we are building a team of regular civil servants that will be effective and transparent in their call to duty.

The Governor, however stressed his administration’s commitment to building a team of civil servants that will be effective and transparent in their official duties.

He added that his administration will prioritize training and retraining of Public Servants in the State for better, efficient and transparent service delivery.

“Edo people voted for us to provide good governance and public service delivery wiill be central to that agenda.

“We will ensure that public servants in Edo State are constantly trained and repositioned to achieved our dream of a better Edo,” he assured.

He, therefore, admonished the new Permanent Secretaries to give their best in making a huge difference in the coming year.

Mrs. Stella Eshieshie, who responded on behalf of the newly sworn-in Permanent Secretaries, thanked the Governor for the confidence reposed on them and the opportunity given to them to serve in the capacity of Permanent Secretaries.

She assured that they would bring their experience and expertise to bear in implementing the administration’s policies.
